Well Child Checks/Anticipatory Guidance

Updated: Jan 6, 2020

This is a guide to when your child needs a scheduled Well Child Check examination (WCC), the vaccines given during each visit and a general overview of developmental milestones.

Well Child Exams are conducted annually for persons 3 years and older. The schedule is as follows:

  • Every 2 months from 2-6 months

  • Every 3 months from 6-18 months

  • Every 6 months from 18-36 months

  • Annually from 36 months (3 years) and older

Well exams are important to help prevent complications from potentially life threatening conditions. They are also necessary to provide updates regarding the growth and development of patients and to help coordinate services for a patient if needed.
